DIY Beaded Letters

Ok,  two things brought me to this DIY.  First is my new obsession of "initials" in decorating.  I'm currently collecting letters to decorate with a mass quantity.  They are fun and can be so cute.  The hunt for new letters in different fonts is so fun.

Second, I was flipping through a Restoration Hardware "child & baby" catalog and saw letters for sale just like these!  They are $29 and I knew I could have fun making my own for more than half that price.

Items Needed For This Project:

  • Unfinished wood beads:   Size is up to you.  I used 5/8" bead that I purchased at Michaels.  They were $2.99 pkg.  (qty 34) I saw online that you can get them much cheaper in larger quantities at Oriental Trading Co.  If you buy at a local store make sure and use a coupon.
  • Wire:  Use a strong enough gage that it will hold its shape with the beads yet bendable.  Your local hardware store is your best bet for choices.
  • Misc:  craft paint, paint brush, needle nose pliers

You could make other shapes.  Try a heart or a star! I would love to see your work.  Please share with me on any of my social media sites.  Find links at the top of this page.
