Cupcake Icing Tips

So..... I  showed you baking tips.  Here is basic icing tips.  The video will give you your tutorial but I wanted to add a few easy frosting recipes as well as my favorite and family favorite cupcakes combinations.

Items needed for this project:

  • Frosting bag-  I prefer the largest you can find.  In most stores 16" is what you will find.  Try Wal-Mart in the Wilton isle, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joann, or any local baking supply store.
  • Largest round frosting tip- If you go to a baking supply store they will have larger than Hobby Lobby, Wal Mart, Joann, and Michaels which is the Wilton #2A.
  • Cupcakes

Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

16 oz. cream cheese (slightly softened)
2 sticks butter (softened)
1 tsp vanilla
2 lbs powdered sugar

Mix cream cheese and butter together in mixer.  Add sugar and vanilla.  Mix on low until all ingredients are combined.  (You don't want powdered sugar flying everywhere so cover your bowl until the sugar is all mixed in!) Turn mixer to medium for about 3-4 minutes to get nice fluffy cream cheese frosting.

  • For additional easy basic recipes go to Wilton.com and go to recipes.
Cupcake Favorites: Vanilla cupcake w/ Strawberry Buttercream, Chocolate cupcake w/ chocolate Ganache and Marshmallow Buttercream, Chocolate cupcake w/ Peanut Butter Icing, Lemon cupcake w/ Lemon Buttercream topped w/ Raspberry, Carrot Cake cupcake w/ Cream Cheese Icing, Almond cupcake w/ Raspberry Buttercream.
