Sidewalk Chalk Photography

Summer is in full swing and I have been looking for ideas and projects to do with the kids.  Sidewalk chalk is so much fun for all ages and I love the creativity of this project.  You don't have to be a great artist to draw simple things.  However, if you need practice before you hit the sidewalk, Google can be your best friend.  Do a search on how to draw.... "butterflies" or whatever your interested in.  The bookstores and libraries can help as well.
This project can be as simple or complex as you want to make it.  Most of all just go out there and be silly, have fun, and take lots of pictures!

Items Needed For This Project:

  • Sidewalk chalk:  I found my big box at Target for $3.  I know you can find it just about anywhere.  But if you are on a tighter budget, try dollar stores as well.
  • Camera

Tips:

  • It's easier to draw around your person.  I tried to draw some things without my daughter there and just insert her into the photo but my scale was all wrong.
  • Make sure you are not drawing something too big to fit in the view of your camera.

I can't wait to see what fun photos you take!  Don't forget to post your pics on our Facebook page.  Follow the link at the top of this blog!
