Mod Podge Decorative Box

Every year at least one if not more of the kids needs a Valentine Box for school.  Over the years we have made so many cute boxes.  So I decided to share the basic techniques I have used.  I also started trying to make boxes that could be used in the kids bedroom after their initial Valentine Party use.

I have also made some just to match a bedroom for storage of "kid things".  Scrapbook paper comes in such CUTE designs these days, it's easy to find paper to match almost any color scheme.

Supplies needed for this project:
  • Cardboard Box: I found the biggest selection at Hobby Lobby.  Michaels and Joann carry them as well.  They come in round, oval, square and even heart shape!
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Mod Podge: It comes in either a Matte finish or Gloss finish.  It can be a little pricey depending on size of bottle.  A small bottle will be enough for one box.  Be sure to use your online coupon for this item.  Can be found at Wal Mart, Michaels, Joann, and Hobby Lobby.
  • Embellishments:  This depends on you and what you want on your box.  Ribbon, Feather Boa, Rhinestones, and Flowers are some suggestions.

I would LOVE to see your creations!  Go to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Show-Me-Cute/189482681115801 Post your pictures! Be creative.  Try to think about the things your kids love  or what matches the room as a starting point.

Happy Valentine's Day!
