Fruit Ice Pops

This idea was sent to me by a viewer in Australia. She was super sweet to think of me and showmecute. I really loved her idea. My daughter loved her idea. I thought mothers and kids would have ball this summer testing out different flavors and coming up with their own favorite ice pops.

So far, our favorite is strawberry cream cheese!

Items Needed For This Project:

  • Popsicle trays:  These can be found all over.  Check your local Grocery store or Walmart, Target, etc.
  • Ingredients from your choice of recipes!

Just Peachy
7 oz. peeled diced peaches
4 oz. peach nectar
3 tablespoons plain yogurt
1.5 teaspoons agave nectar
1/5 teaspoons fresh lime juice
(I added a bit of sugar.  After you blend ingredients do a quick test to see if you need sugar and then add to taste)
Combine ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.  Pour into mold and put in freezer until frozen.  I added a peach slice as shown in video!

Strawberry Cheesecake
4 oz. milk
1/4 cup cream cheese, room temp
2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1.25 teaspoons white wine vinegar
In a bowl, whisk the cream cheese until smooth.  Add milk and whisk until the milk is completely incorporated.  If clumps of cream cheese remain, microwave the mixture for 15 seconds in the microwave until smooth.  Whisk in the sugar, vanilla, and vinegar until sugar has dissolved.  Refrigerate until cool.
Pour into mold.  Add fresh strawberry slices.  Place in freezer until frozen.

Raspberry
5 oz. raspberries
2 oz. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Tbsp sour cream
2 Tbsp sugar
Combine ingredients in blender until puree.  Pour into mold and place in freezer until frozen.

Blackberry
5 oz. blackberries
3 oz milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp sour cream
1 Tbsp + 1 tsp sugar
Combine ingredients in blender and puree.  Pour into mold and place in freezer until frozen.

I didn't love the chocolate recipe I used.  So I would love it if you would share your favorite recipes on our facebook page!  I can't wait to try these all summer long.  The cheesecake was so yummy!

You can google recipes and find so many to choose from.  I purchased a recipe book with my ZOKU quick pop maker from Williams Sonoma.  I has tons of options I am ready to try.  I will let you know which ones the family likes.

Happy Summer 2012!
